Christmas Tale II: Girl of Hope How many people do you know are genuine cribber? They would crib at anything and everything. All my friends and relatives at least know one such person: me. I have been cribbing about a lot of things in my short life. Thus when I witness or hear of any incident which reflects an exactly opposite behavior from other people I cherish them. I admire people who just do not blame everything but initiate actions however small they may be to improve the prevailing situation/ condition. This is another small incident which I read in a newspaper and it touched me. Bihar, according to many who wish to be guided by media articles only, remains a land of miseries. It is true to some extent; obviously media cannot fabricate everything out of nowhere. Thus you would find people at the doorsteps of the Chief Minister ‘Nitish Kumar’, presenting their problems in order to get some relief from him. In his ‘Janta Darbar’ the Chief Minister listen to the grievances of commo
Christmas Tale I: Child on platform This is a small incident but it touched my heart. I have been quite vocal against the child labour and to my credit have done nothing except blabbering. I find this to be the best way to escape as a responsible citizen patronizing social causes. Yet I will let it to be the part of the article for the sheer effort that had gone into writing this. I will put down two points before I proceed to narrate the incident. Though I have never d
Brand SRK Authorspeak: I have always been caught in the midst of Aamir vs. Shah Rukh debate. With ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’ not garnering expected critical acclaim, one of my friends again raised this question to me: Who do you think is better: Aamir or Shah Rukh? I gave the traditional reply: Aamir is the better actor but as of now Shah Rukh is the bigger brand. People may or may not agree with me and I also know that I will have to discount my liking for SRK to pass any impartial judgement but the answer I gave will still be valid to much extent. While studying the phenomenon of ‘Celebrity Endorsement’ I tried to study the growth of brand SRK. Based on my knowledge I am trying to reproduce a part of my work. People are free to disagree. However before you read I want to say that I have tried my level best to pass an impartial judgement. The post is a bit long. Sorry for that. He has been hailed by many as the biggest ‘brand’ existing in India at present. He endorses more than 30 brands/
